Brief Description
In May 2023, Ireland established a Taskforce on Safe Participation in Political Life to safeguard and promote civil discourse and participation in politics. In parallel, the creation of Coimisiún na Meán has laid the foundations for a new regulatory framework for online safety. The Commission will enforce binding online safety codes, holding designated online services accountable for tackling defined categories of harmful online content.
